Itinerary:

I think it's finally warm enough to take a dip in the cold waters of Jacks River Falls. Get your swim suits out, your sunscreen on and let's go!

Starting out in Tennessee at the Beech Bottom Trail head, we will hike a little over 4.6 miles to Jacks River Falls. Elevation gain in total is approximately 1000 feet with no long steep sections. The trail is generally easy terrain but there is some larger rock hopping and a short steep descent is required to get to the swimming hole area. We will hike between 2.5 and 3 mph and stop at river crossings and intersections. River/creek crossings can usually be rock hopped. If not, well, you brought your swim suit and towel, right?

At the beautiful falls we will stop for an hour or two to have lunch and take a dip in the water (if you want). There is a spot around the bend in the river to change clothes but some chose to hike with their swimwear. I should note that there are bees at the falls.

When everyone has had their fill of food and river water, we will hike back the way we came.

More than likely, we will not stop for dinner but it's up to the hikers in each carpool to decide.

There isn't anywhere other than behind a car or trees to change at the trail head. In any case, be mindful that you may be riding in someone else's car. Bring a change of clothes, a dry towel, and/or a bag for wet clothes.

I will allow two well behaved dogs.
