Itinerary:

Join me for a fast paced hike along the Suwanee Greenway.  We will meet at Suwanee Creek Park  - please look for the directions.

We'll walk around Suwanee Creek park, across McGinnis Ferry Rd, through Martin Farm and proceed to Suwanee Dam road. After that we will turn back and return to the parking lot.

We will be moving at a fast pace, approximately 3.5 miles an hr. and will be making a few stops at the lake and along the way. Our goal is 6.5 miles in approximately 2 hours with stops; it will not be a leisurely pace.

Hiking through the Suwanee Greenway Trail gives you that amazing imagination of how the County has transformed a neglected dumping ground of hazardous chemicals into environmentally sound wetlands and parks. According to history, in less than 30 years, this transformed environment enticed herons, egrets, hawks and even waterfowl and raptors to inhabit this wetland. This is another success story of Gwinnett County's innovation to serve the public.

The hike will start promptly at 6.30 pm so plan to arrive early.
