Rainbow Falls & Edwards Point

With the hot days it is nice to hike by water. We will start with some views at the Overlook at the beginning of the trail. Hiking along the edge of the gorge there will be another overlook, then a descent to the creek. We will hike to the dam, then do a wooded loop with nice rock formations and more acess to the creek. Ascending to Locharts arch, the trail then goes to nice views and the lunch spot at Edwards Point. Returning back toward the Signal Point parking lot, we will go down to Rainbow Falls. This is an off-trail detour that will involve some scrambling down a slope that is steep in some places. I will bring a rope to help, but most people do it just fine without. We will spend a good bit of time here allowing for swimming if you wish.

Bring a sense of adventure & don't be afraid to get a little dirty.

After the hike the plan is to stop for pizza.

If you do not wish to joing please drive yourself or carpool with someone returning immediately to Atlanta.

75 North from Chastain

After entering Tennessee merge onto I- 24 West toward Chattanooga

Stay to the right to merge onto Us 27 North exit

Exit onto US 127 North / Signal Mountain Blvd.

Follow the loop toward Signal Mountian

Look for the Raceway on the left. We will regroup in the parking lot.
