Itinerary:

Calling all AOCers who have an interest in hiking and learning more about the Appalachian Trail!  See the nice e-note and invitation below that I received last week from my friend Richard Judy.  I hope you'll join us for his 90-minute lecture and Q&A session in Roswell this Saturday afternoon.  (See Directions below and for a zoomable map or satellite view of the Library vicinity click the square blue & green "Event Location" icon above.)

Many of us AOCers - esp. those of us who have volunteered at the Len Foote Hike Inn or participated in the recent "TrailFest" in Dahlonega - have been fortunate to get to know Richard.  A life-long hiker, he has recently become famous as the author of a fascinating novel, "Thru," based on his experiences and personal interactions while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.  For many years Richard has also been a key driving force behind the operation of the Len Foote Hike Inn.  -Charlie

RECENT E-NOTE to me from RICHARD:

Subject: Appalachian Trail Talk at Roswell Library

Charlie, I hope all is well with you.

I will be speaking at the Roswell Library at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, talking about my novel, THRU: An Appalachian Trail Love StoryIn my talk which I call "A Hiker's Life" I'll describe how a life of adventure led to writing the novel and making it a fund-raising project for the nonprofit publisher, the AT Museum. I will also talk about the AT and its heritage. I will sign and sell copies for the benefit of the library and the AT Museum.

If possible, could you get the word out to people at the Atlanta Outdoor Club? I would think many members would enjoy the presentation.
