Itinerary:

We'll meet at the base of the Walk-Up Trail - Near the bathrooms, and walk up to the top of the mountain while it's cool. Then we'll return down the hill and head right to travel clockwise around the mountain using the Cherokee Trail. 

The plan is to hike continuously without stopping, but not at a fast pace... just expect to keep moving, enjoy the exercise.

Sorry, no dogs allowed on the mountain.

There is a $15 parking fee if you do not have a park pass, however there is free parking available both near the Stone Mountain Police Station and at the Park-N-Ride off of Main Street in the center of town. It's a half mile walk from either of these parking areas, so if you plan to use them please plan accordingly to be to the meeting place by 7am.


Required Items to Bring:

• Comfortable shoes with a good grip-the rock can be slippery.
• 1 liter of water, sports drink or beverage of choice.
• Trail snacks.

Directions: To the main entrance- From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel about 7 miles and take Exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. After entering the main entrance, proceed straight ahead. The road will fork at about 1 mile – stay to the right. Continue to follow the road for another mile. Confederate Hall will be on your left. The parking lot will be immediately after. We’ll meet behind Confederate Hall near the walk up trail.
