Itinerary:

Let’s enjoy the end the week with a good healthy hike!

We will cover 5-6 miles starting out on the river trail and we’ll go up some of the back hill trails. We'll stop to enjoy the scenery, and hydrate, but expect to keep a steady pace throughout the hike.

Definition of a D2 hike: Gentle to moderate elevation gain 400 to 1000 feet, moderate pace generally 4-6 miles.  I would expect we’ll do about 600-700 feet of elevation, depending on the hills we take.

Weather forecast for Friday is Sunny high of 93. You must bring water to hike, no exceptions.

We will meet at the Visitor Center parking lot which is the last parking lot on Island Ford Parkway. The Visitor Center closes at 5pm: restrooms will not be available.

If you do not have an annual CRNRA parking pass, you will need to purchase the $3 daily pass at the pay station in the parking lot.

We'll start the hike promptly at 6pm.  Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to meet everyone before we start.

No more than 2 dogs on the hike. If you bring your dog, you must use a leash at all times in accordance with the Park rules.
