Itinerary:

Lisa S. recently led a "tiny doors" event on the Beltline.  If you missed the opportunity to stroll through city streets locating hidden little doors, here's your chance to participate in a similar event. Gratitude goes to to Alan W. for alerting me to this fascinating art project in Decatur.  Tucked away in the nooks and crannies of Decatur is a series of miniature secret doors created by 24 local artists. We will tour the streets to find at least 12 of the doors (there are over 30) on our walk through the city.

We'll gather at 9 am. at the intersection of McDonough and W. Trinity streets, at the corner of the Saturday Farmer's Market. There are several options for parking.  See the options below:

Our pace will be moderate so that we can keep our group together.  Bring your camera, as the doors themselves are picture worthy! Each is a piece of art unto itself, reflecting the distinctive style of the artist. They're easy to miss unless you're looking for them . . .  but rest easy - - I've located the ones on our trek, so we won't get stumped.

Following our discoveries, those who have time are invited to join the group for lunch at The Brickstore, a popular dining spot near the square with an amazing assortment of world-class beers. If you stay for lunch, plan to be finished by about 1:00 pm. - - plenty of time for you to enjoy Saturday evening events of your own.

Since we'll be seeing fewer than half of the secret doors on this event, stay tuned for Part 2, when we'll check out some of the remaining doors that we missed on this excursion.
