Itinerary:

Join me for an evening fast paced hike along the Suwanee Greenway.

We'll start Suwanee Sports Center trailhead and will be walking on the Greenway toward George C Pierce Park, around the lake and then return to the sports center.

We will be moving at a fast pace, approximately 3.5 miles an hr. and will be making a stop at the lake to enjoy the vista. Our goal is 7 miles in approximately 2 hours. with stops; it will not be a leisurely pace.

Hiking through the Suwanee Greenway Trail gives you that amazing imagination of how the County has transformed a neglected dumping ground of hazardous chemicals into environmentally sound wetlands and parks. According to history, in less than 30 years, this transformed environment enticed herons, egrets, hawks and even waterfowl and raptors to inhabit this wetland. This is another success story of Gwinnett County's innovation to serve the public.

The hike will start promptly at 6:30 pm so please consider afterwork traffic and plan to arrive early.
