This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Tallulah Gorge is one of the most unique sights in Georgia.  The Gorge is 2 miles long and nearly 1000 feet deep.  We will be taking the Hurricane Falls Loop Trail which is only 2 miles long but steep  - mulched with a total of 1099 steps. We will NOT be hiking along the Gorge Floor Trail, so if you want a swimming event, this hike is not for you.   After we recover from the steps, we will continue along 3 mile round trip of the North and South Rim Trail which offers incredible views of the gorge.  We will definitely take our time along these trails to enable us to get some incredible photo shots.

This is a DIFFICULT D3 hike but we will be doing this at such a pace that we will be able to get a workout but also with stops to take in the views.   Those of you that are trying to get your Georgia Canyon Climbers T-shirt will want to be sure to bring your card so it can be stamped at the Visitor Center.  Cards for interested climbers can be purchased at the Visitor Center for $10. (Georgia’s Canyon Climbers Club is for those few who have scaled to the top of Amicalola Falls, explored the depths of Providence Canyon, braved the swinging bridge in Tallulah Gorge and mastered the staircase in Cloudland Canyon.)

Since we have never led this hike, we are making it exploratory but the trails are well marked so we shouldn't have any problems!
