Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Olde Rope Mill Park is primarily a park of mountain biking trails.   You will see many mountain bikers, a few dog walkers, and those of us with kayaks, entering and exiting Little River. This will be an 8-10 mile paddle on mostly flat water.  We will be going downstream and upstream, but there is not much of a current on the way back up.  We are listing this event as exploratory, because we have not explored the entire cove (due to water level), and now that the water level is up, we want to continue farther into the cove.  We are estimating the distance to be approximately 8-10 miles, so this paddle is for intermediate paddlers only.  There is virtually no current, so it is important to note that you will be paddling for the entire duration of the event.

We will begin by paddling upstream towards the old mill ruins and a bit beyond.  We will then paddle back downstream for approximately 45 minutes until we reach the waterfall.  We will stop here for about 15 minutes to have a snack, take pictures and enjoy the view.  Next, we will be heading toward the cove to see how far into it we can explore.

We will be eating lunch at Which Wich (close by at the Outlet Mall), and would love for you to join us, but this is optional.
