The TAG Fall Cave-In

2 Days of Caving - Friday Oct. 10th & Saturday Oct. 11th

This is a PAID EVENT but you DO NOT PAY THE AOC. The Entrance Fee for this event is paid at the GATE when we arrive. CASH ONLY !

There are already 5 people signed up for this event because they are NSS members. You MUST be an NSS member or a guest of a NSS member in order to go on this trip. If you are not a NSS member you are a guest of one of the people already signed up. This is how you get in = )

We will leave Thursday night after work and drive to Lookout Mtn in Chattanooga, TN. We will set up camp and get organized for the next morning while partaking of a few adult beverages to loosen up the joints.

We will have 2 different groups for each day of caving.

Friday:
We will have a medium difficulty horizontal Cave and an easy to medium Vertical Cave.

Saturday:
We will have another medium difficulty Horizontal Cave and a HARD Horizontal Cave.

GEAR: VERY IMPORTANT!

YOU MUST HAVE ALL YOUR OWN CAVING GEAR, THIS INCLUDES VERTICAL GEAR IF YOU CHOOSE THAT CAVE!

We will be getting headlamps and helmets from Tom if you want to rent them. THIS IS A SEPERATE FEE and NOT INCLUDED IN THE TRIP PRICE.

Helmet & Light Rental is $15 for the weekend. This money will be paid to CHRISTY at the event. After you use your helment and light YOU are responsible for cleaning them. If you do not clean them a $50 fee will be charged.
BATTERIES are NOT INCLUDED. Lights take AA Batteries.

The TAG CAVE-In will have:

  • Bathrooms
  • Showers
  • Clothing Optional Hot Tub - No this is NOT my doing or my idea just letting you know to bring your suit if you want.
  • Vendor Area - They will be selling gear if you wish to go shopping but I would not count on this as your primary source of gear as I don't know their hours.
  • Band - Saturday Night
  • Friday Night Open Mic Night....Past experiences have been from guitar players to belly dancers.

    This is car camping so bring all your gear to be cozy and have fun.

    I will be sending out emails to those who sign-up to establish the groups for each cave for each day.

    Sunday morning we will pack up and head back to Atlanta. We must leave by NOON so we will probably stop for lunch on the way home. We should be back in Atlanta by Early afternoon.

    Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $96.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
