Itinerary:

This hike includes a unique waterfall and panoramic view from a mountaintop.  We will begin the hike at the Raven Cliff Falls trailhead.  Raven Cliff Falls is one of North Georgia's most interesting cascades.  It slices through a sheer rock bluff known as Raven Cliff.  Along the way to the falls we will be passing through the Raven Cliff Wilderness where more waterfalls await.  We will stop at the falls for about 45 minutes to have lunch and explore the area around the falls (including some hidden waterfalls at the top of the cliff).  Then, we will follow the same trail back to the cars.  The total distance roundtrip for this part of the hike is approximately 4.9 miles with 700 feet of elevation gain.

Next, we will drive a few miles down the road to Hogpen Gap.  We will hike 1 mile on the Appalachian Trail from the gap to the top of Wildcat Mountain.  We will spend a few minutes to enjoy the view from the summit and take pictures.  After that, we will return down the same trail to the cars.  The total distance roundtrip for this part of the hike is approximately 2 miles with 300 feet of elevation gain.
