Itinerary:

Join us for a late morning hike at the picturesque Sawnee Mountain Preserve.  This is a close-in trail that offers great views of the North Georgia Mountains.  The trail is moderate with about 800 feet of elevation.  We start at the environmental center on Spot Road and go at a moderate pace.  On the mountain we will do a double loop to get in about five miles while keeping our heart rate up for a workout.

The event will meet at the Environmental Center at 4075 Spot Road.  We will not be starting at the Bettis-Tribble Gap Road entrance. Go north on GA 400 to Exit 17 Hwy 306/Keith Bridge Road.  Go left at the exit until you dead end at Highway 9.  Go right on Hwy 9 about 1/3 mile to the light at Spot Road and take a left.  The entrance is on the left after about a mile and a half.

The Indian Seats lookout on the mountain top is a good spot for a short break while enjoying the scenery.
