Itinerary:

Join me for a section of the Kennesaw Battlefield that often gets overlooked by folks hiking the mountains. We will NOT be hiking up any mountains on this event, but rather enjoying an area of undulating hills and easy-on-the-feet trails.

We will start our hike promptly at 9 am in the parking lot off of Dallas Highway (Whitlock Ave. if you're coming from Marietta) and hike the 5.5. mile loop trail, winding our way through a variety of landscapes that go all the way to Powder Springs Road (Kolb Farm) before beginning the second half of the loop back.

This area offers hiking that is quite different from the mountain sections of Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield.  We'll keep a moderate pace, stopping from time to time for water breaks and photos, but our goal will be to finish in about 2 hours.  The terrain is varied, but nothing seriously steep.

Dress appropriately for the weather.  I'll update you before the event.  Be sure to bring sufficient water, no matter what the temperature.
