Itinerary:

Help me lose those twenty pounds that I've gained since going into extreme hibernation.

We will cover around 5.? miles keeping a moderate pace with stops in a few intersections.  By "moderate," I mean a speed averaging 2.9 mph (rarely falling below 2.0, rarely increasing beyond 4); if you've been on this hike on Friday evenings, it'll be a similar pace. It's not a beginner's hike, but it's nowhere near the pace of a fitness hike.  However, since I haven't done this hike in 6 months, it might be slightly slower.  Regardless, it'll all work out.

The trail goes along the river towards the pond, and continues through the woods. In general, the trails are flat with some relatively easy uphill climbs, nothing with over a 150 foot elevation gain.

We'll meet in the parking lot at the very end of the entrance road. Restrooms are available here.

Dogs are welcome, but in accordance with park rules, they must be on a leash. I will also ask the dog owners to walk ahead or at the back of the group, and that their dogs perform tricks at the drop of a hat.

***Don't leave any valuables in your vehicles for there have been cases of vandalism.

From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles to Jones Bridge Branch which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot at end of road.
