Itinerary:

If the cold, snowy, windy weather kept you indoors this weekend, you're going to love what's in store for Monday morning. The forecast looks great for hiking the moderate trails of the Roswell Area Park.

The non-technical trails of soft pea-gravel and asphalt are kind to your feet while the gentle undulations will give your legs a nice workout. We'll hike past playgrounds and soccer fields through the trees and around a small pond. The trails are wide enough for conversation.

Starting from the first parking lot on the left, we'll cover 4.5 miles. If we keep a moderate pace of 20 minutes per mile (including stops), we should finish at 11:30 am. Be prepared to maintain this pace and stay with the group.  If you are struggling to keep up or decide to leave the group during the hike, please let me know.

New AOC members are welcome to join this hike! It is not a beginner hike and it is not necessarily an easy hike. But it is a good introduction to maintaining a moderate pace in a group.

Plan to arrive a few minutes early to meet our fellow hikers and also so we can start on time.

This is a dog-friendly park, with many dogs on the trail.  You are welcome to bring your dog as long as you keep it on leash during the hike and clean up any messes that it makes.
