Itinerary:

Monday is the first day of February - or as I like to call it, Groundhog Day Eve - which brings the promise of longer days and later hiking. Yes! Join me on a fast hike as we race along the trails to beat the sunset. Official sunset time on Monday is 6:08 pm, and the park closes at dusk (defined as 30 minutes after legal sunset). So we'll have to keep up the pace to finish and get out of the park by 6:38. We will meet at the Park Headquarters parking lot, then hike along the trails at a quick speed.

Please bring a headlamp or small flashlight, as daylight will be diminishing as we finish our hike.

Estimated distance for this hike is approximately 6.5 miles. Note this is not a beginner hike; we will take a few water breaks but keep a steady pace up and down the hills to get a good workout.

Required Items to Bring:

hiking boots/shoes with good traction; water; $3 for parking or CRNA annual pass; headlamp or small flashlight
