This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Come enjoy the winters quiet solitude.

The trails at Jake and Bull Mountain are for hikers, cyclists, and horses, but should be relatively empty for a week day hike.   The trail grade is gentle and most uphills have curving switchbacks.

I recently travelled these trails and found them easy to follow.  The pace will be between 2.0 and 2.5.  Please sign up only if you know you can maintain that pace.

There are streams to cross, but if the weather is too cold, we will re-route the hike to drier trails.

We will be back in plenty of time for the AOC social.

There is a porta-potty at the trailhead.

Change of footwear (trails could be muddy).  Positive attitude.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

North on 400, make a left on to 136, the very next right is on to 9e, then a left onto 9, then a right on 52 west of Dahlonega for ~ 4.6 miles, then turn right onto Nimblewill Church Road (there is an old, decrepit, and nearly falling down old convenience store called Grizzles on the corner). Drive less than five minutes to the Jack’s Run trailhead on the right.
