Itinerary:

Join us for a scenic ride from Stone Mountain to the Carter Center on bike via the PATH Trail.

We will meet at Stone Mountain, behind Confederate Hall near the walk up trail. We'll ride 16 miles each way (32 total miles) to the Carter Center at a 10 to 12 mph modest pace. We'll ride through Clarkston, Avondale Estates, Decatur, Candler Park and Inman Park on the PATH trail then will turn around at the Carter Center after a short break and make our way back to Stone Mountain.

For the majority of the time you do not need to contend with cars.  That said, you will have some sections where you will be on the road.  These roads are typically not very crowded on the weekends, but, just in cae, you need to be prepared for traffic and be comfortable riding on the road.  This is NOT the Silver Comet Trail.  Additionally there are many intersections which the Path Trail intersects the road.  YOU MUST WEAR A HELMET

After the ride we will have lunch at the Village Corner Restaurant in Stone Mountain Village if you wish to join us (optional).

Note:  This ride will have 1 or 2 stops.   We will also be traveling on open roads for about 3 miles each way, so we will be staying together as a group during the ride. All riders are expected to obey all traffic laws while participating. Also there are rest rooms at Stone Mountain Park, but facilities along the route are limited.
