Itinerary:

Hello everyone! Come join us on a Mason Mill Meander this Saturday. We will be meeting at Mason Mill Park in Decatur, GA. We'll meet up in front of the restrooms in the parking lot, then head over to the South Peachtree Creek Trail for a leisurely hike over to Medlock Park. This path is a little over 1 mile in length one-way. We'll then turn around and head back to our cars to finish up our walk.

This is intended to be a fairly easy walk. The path itself is paved or a wooden boardwalk, depending on the segment. There are some ups and downs, but they are generally pretty gentle. We'll be moving at a steady, relaxed paced to make it through the hike in an hour. Overall, this should be a good hike for beginners looking for more of a brisk walk than a workout. If there's any question as to whether or not this hike is appropriate for you, you can always contact Lyndsay for more information.

Please arrive about 10-15 minutes early, or a bit earlier if you wish to take advantage of the restrooms before we get started. At 8:55 AM we will have introductions and snap a couple of group pictures. We will begin our hike promptly at 9:00 AM and get back to the cars at 10:00 AM.

The weather for this weekend is looking pretty positive so far - sunny but a bit chilly as Friday's low is forecasted to be 30. As long as we're not expecting steady/heavy rain, we'll continue on regardless of weather. Please wear layers as necessary to stay warm while we get started but avoid overheating as we continue our hike. One thing to keep in mind - rain can make the boardwalk slick! We will be getting a good deal of rain earlier in the week, and this may affect the hike. While I believe the path should be dried out by the time we get started, please make sure your shoes have good traction just in case.

If you have any questions about the hike, please contact Lyndsay for more information.
