Itinerary:

** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A BYOB (BRING YOUR OWN BOAT) EVENT. **

Come paddle with us on one of the coolest sections of the Etowah River. Ok, well your TL's think it's cool. :-)

Our flatwater paddle will begin at the bottom of Allatoona Dam. We'll meet, drop gear/boats, run a car shuttle, and at the end of the day take out at Floyds Landing. In the past we've taken out more than a few miles downstream, but this time, we are planning to paddle and play the day away.

We'll be paddling by and playing in some pretty cool sites along this section of the Etowah.
- You'll paddle by large stone pilings early on in the trip, which are what is left of the Western and Atlantic Rail Road bridge that was burned and rebuilt over 6 times.
- We'll portage around the Thompson Wienman dam that was used for electrical generation in the early 1900's. After the portage, we'll stop and play if the water is not too high. :)
- You'll see numerous remnants of the old fishing weirs in the river. Plan to swim/play in a few of the rapids. :)
- We are going to be stopping at the Etowah Indian Mounds for lunch and exploring the park.
