Total Miles - up to 16 miles.

On this "challenge" event, Everyone will hike towards Springer Mountain and Turn Around at a specific time four hours after we start the event. If you haven't reached Springer in four hours, you'll need to turn around anyway.

Because of each individual's different speed and ability, we expect the crew to spread out more than normal hikes. It's possible you'd be hiking alone or with a buddy at certain times during the event. Please come prepared to hike alone if needed.

The fastest hikers will end up "sweeping" the trail on the way back.

Water, appropriate clothing, snacks, etc.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $48.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
