Itinerary:

I hope everyone will hike with me at another one of Sandy Spring's hidden treasures, the Blue Heron Preserve. The Blue Heron Nature Preserve is located in Sandy Springs right off of Roswell Rd going towards Buckhead (4055 Roswell Rd). What a location for this little trail and treasure. The 1.5 miles of trail are located in the Blue Heron Nature Preserve which is home to more than 488 species of trees, numerous insects (lots of butterflies), moss and fungi. Very interesting and pretty place!

For those of you who would like to join me on this hike Saturday morning, we will be hiking 3-miles. We will be looping the trail twice to get our miles and see the sights. For more information on the park visit http://bhnp.org/index.html

I look foward to hiking with everyone!

Notes: Please go to the second enterance. The first one depending on the direction that you are traveling is the enterance to the garden area. The second enterance (where we are meeting) has a large parking lot, nature center and a driving bridge that you will cross. The bridge also has a cute note posted "SLOW FOR TURTLE CROSSING" please adhere to the sign as this is home and crossing to many turtles.

See everyone there! Beginners and newcomers are encouraged to join us!
