Itinerary:

Let's satisfy our hunger (for the outdoors) with a three-course "meal" at Stone Mountain Park. The appetizer, main course, and dessert refer to the three portions of our hike. We will meet at the Confederate Hall parking area near the restrooms by the hike up trail at 12:45 Sunday afternoon and will take off promptly at 1:00 pm.

We will start with an "Appetizer" of going up and down the mountain using some lesser known trails. This will provide a good warm up for the rest of this hike. We will then move on to the "Main Course." We'll pick up the Cherokee Trail and proceed clockwise around the mountain. Passing Memorial Lawn and the carving, we will proceed past the grist mill and over the covered bridge to the King's Trail at Indian Island. We will pause at one of the picnic tables in this area for a snack break before popping back on to the Cherokee trail and then exploring the Nature Garden Trail. Finally, we will top everything off with "Dessert" in the form of one more summit of the mountain.

We will hike at a moderate pace, stay together and regroup at trail and road crossings. We can take some short breaks to rest and enjoy.
