Hello everyone! Come join me for a hike at West Palisades! This segment of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA), conveniently located in NW Atlanta, is not as popular as its sister unit across the river, but it still provides for a nice hike.

We'll start at the Paces Mill entrance and make our way down along the paved path by the river. We'll take a few different trails as our mood fits us before heading back to the parking lot. There will be some elevation on this hike and we will be moving at a steady, moderate pace, bordering on a fitness paced walk. In order to get our 4 miles in during our 90 min hike, we will take a couple of breaks for breathers after our uphill segments, but otherwise we will stay on the go. If you have any concerns about whether or not you are ready for this D2 hike, you can always contact Lyndsay for more information.

Please arrive at the Paces Mill entrance about 10-15 minutes early, or a bit earlier if you wish to take advantage of the restrooms before we get started. We'll gather at the benches near the restrooms. At 5:25 PM we will have introductions and snap a couple of group pictures. We will begin our hike promptly at 5:30 PM, to be sure we get back to the cars by 7:00 PM. If you do not have a CRNRA annual parking pass, please bring $3 to purchase one at the parking lot. Also, it's starting to warm up - water is a must for this hike!

The weather for this weekend is looking pretty positive so far - mid 80s and sunny. As long as we're not expecting steady/heavy rain, we'll continue on regardless of weather.

From I-75 Southbound - Take exit 256. Turn right onto US 41/Northside Pkwy NW. Go about 1 mile and take your first right just after you cross over the river.

From I-75 Northbound - Take exit 256. Turn left onto Mt. Paran Rd NW. Take your first right onto US 41/Northside Pkwy NW. Go about 1 mile and take your first right just after you cross over the river.

Please meet at the benches near the restrooms.
