Let's get on the water in an astonishingly beautiful float that is within a major metropolis! We will paddle downstream from Johnson Ferry to Paces Mill. We will stop mid-way for lunch and a swim.

We will be working with Nantahala Outdoor Center's Atlanta operation for this event. This is an easy float and perfect for beginning paddlers. You can bring your own boat or rent one from them.

For those bringing their own boat:

You will just pay a $7 fee for a shuttle ride back to your car from Paces Mill. They will shuttle people and boats. No need to make a reservation, you will pay the fee at the beginning of the trip to NOC.

If you wish to rent a boat:

You will need to call NOC directly to reserve a boat for that day. The number is 800-232-7238. When you call:

1. Choose the general reservation line in the phone menu

2. When you speak to the NOC representative you will tell them you wish to reserve a boat for June 4, 2016 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm for the Chattahoochee River. Put-in is at Johnson Ferry and take-out is at Paces Mill. You will need to choose your boat from one of the following: ducky, double ducky, sit-on-top single kayak, or sit-on-top tandem kayak.

3. You will need to give them a credit card payment over the phone. The fee will include your boat, paddle, PFD, and shuttle ride. The fee will be about $39.

Sorry, tubes and rafts are not allowed due to their slower pace.

Please no flip flops while boating and no glass allowed on the river.

There is a $3 parking fee at Johnson Ferry if you do not own an annual park pass. We will meet at Johnson Ferry and return back to there. No car pool needed!
