Itinerary:

Challenge Yourself with a 16- mile hike

It is so wonderful to have such an awesome mountain close to Atlanta that we can use for hiking and training.  With this in mind, I would be thrilled if you would like to join me to hike the beautiful Kennesaw Mountain on Sunday! Kennesaw Mountain is know for its history, steep elevations, wildlife, beautiful views that overlook the city and awesome trails. The mountain trail trails are perfect for increasing endurance for distance hikes.

With this in mind, we are starting at the visitor's center and will head straight up Big Kennesaw Mountain then continue up to Little Kennesaw Mountain,  cross over Burnt Hickory, Pigeon Hill,  Knobs farm trail, a couple of other trails and loop  back to the visitors center to complete our  16- mile hike (elevation gains around 2000 ft).

We will stop mid-point for a short 15-20 minute lunch break and quickly start hiking agian.  This is a training hike, so we will be moving fast with few breaks (mid-point short lunch break), and plan to maintain hike speeds of 3.0 to 3.5.

It is going to be fun and challenging!

You must have hiked at least two D4s or a D5 to register for this event! (Email me,  if you would like to join the hike,  but do not have the required d4 or d5 experience in the AOC and feel that you can do the hike.   For those without the required d4 or d5 experience, I will consider your registration only if you contact me first.)

I hope that you will join me for this hike!
