Itinerary:

Please come join me at Gold Branch for a great fitness workout! I love the trails here - lots of ups and downs to work those legs. And as if that's not enough to challenge you, some sections are narrow and have lots of roots to negotiate!

We'll hike along the water's edge were it's really beautiful. We often see blue herons as well as great white egrets and the occasional deer. However, the coolest thing was when we saw 2 river otters playing in the water!

The hike will include the outer loop trails as well as a few of the inner trails with a couple of great hills which are sure to get your heart pumping.

Please bring plenty of water! I recommend using a camelback type water bladder if you have one so you have constant access to your water. No water, no hike.

Please arrive 10 minutes early for introductions. Also, you have until 4:30 pm on the day of the hike to remove yourself if something comes up. After that time, please text me or call to cancel.

Just a reminder - there are no restrooms here! And don't forget your parking pass or $3 for parking.

Note:  Not a beginner's hike, it is a fitness hike due to our fast pace, short breaks, and the technical condition of the trail with lots of rocks and root to navigate.  If you haven't done any D3 fitness hikes yet, you should consider doing a few fast paced D2s and some other D3s before tackling this hike.

If you are new to the AOC, please include a short message with your registration telling me about your hiking experience/level of fitness. I need to make sure everyone on the hike is capable of keeping up with the group. If I feel you may not be able to keep up, I may remove you and request you join us when you have more hiking experience. This is in fairness to everyone in the group and for your own safety.

DUE TO BREAK-INS, LOCK ALL VALUABLES IN YOUR TRUNK!
