Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Come join us for a paddle down the Hooch.  We'll meet by the boat ramp at Garrard Landing Park, 8000 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022. We'll drop our boats and shuttle cars to the take out at Azalea Park, 205 Azalea Dr, Roswell, GA 30075.  Please be on time, as this shuttle will be 45 minutes round trip, and we want to be on the water as close to 9:30 a.m. as possible.

Come join us for a Sunday morning paddle.  We have not personally done this section of the Chattahoochee, but we have heard that it is a very nice paddle and it is the section used for the annual ‘Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival’ (although the take out for that is slightly earlier).

Along the way we will pass the Horseshoe Bend Country Club, the Island Ford Unit of the CRNRA and Riverside Park in Roswell as well as a series of shoals.

We will stop approximately half way, at Island Ford, for a quick break.  There are restroom facilities available at Garrard Landing Park, Island Ford and Azalea Park.  Parking at both the put in and take out is free.

This is a BYOB (bring your own boat) event.  See notes below for rental information.
