We will walk the Cherokee trail counterclockwise. After approximately 4 miles on the Cherokee trail we will stop for a picnic lunch in the Crossroads area at about 1:00, and then walk 2 miles back to our cars.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Water, picnic lunch, and snacks.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Stone Mountain, GA at the public (and free) parking area at the intersection of Main St. and Second St. in Stone Mountain Village. Proceed on Druid Hills to US 78 East (Stone Mountain Freeway). Continue east on US 78. Merge onto GA 10 W/ Stone Mountain via Exit 5. Proceed 0.5 miles on GA 10 to the first exit. At the end of the ramp turn left. Drive a mile or so, past a gas station and a funeral parlor (both on your right). The parking lot will be on your left, about 0.1 miles past City Hall (which will be on your right).

Notes:
If you are not sure whether you can find the Stone Mountain parking lot on your own just let me know, and I will meet you at 8:30 am at Caribou Coffee at the intersection of La Vista and Druid Hills, across from the Toco Hills shopping center. There is probably no need to carpool, since the starting point of our hike is only 11 miles away. To get to this location, if you are driving south on I-85 take Exit 89/Druid Hills. At the top of the ramp turn left and proceed approximately 1.9 miles. Caribou Coffee will be on your left.
