Itinerary:

This is an opportunity to get a quick hike in after work.

The goal is to move at a fast pace and cover over 5 miles.  This is not a fitness hike, but we want to set a fast pace.  We'll regroup periodically, as needed, and at intersections.  So the group will determine the pace.  

The plan is to go over the hill and then along the river.  From there, we'll go up to the clearing, then through the woods and back along the river.  Finally, we'll go up and over the hill one more time.

We'll be finishing just a few minutes after sunset.  Bring a headlamp or flashlight.

 

***Don't leave any valuables in your vehicles for there have been cases of vandalism.

Appropriate clothing for weather

For your GPS, the address to input is 

From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles to Jones Bridge Branch which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot at end of road.
 

From I-285 W toward Chattanooga, take exit 31B to merge onto GA-141 N.  Then take the exit toward Winters Chapel Rd/Amwiler Rd.  Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Winters Chapel Rd. Turn right onto Spalding Dr.  Turn left onto GA-140/Holcomb Bridge Rd. Turn right onto Barnwell Rd.  In about 2 miles, turn right onto Jones Bridge Unit Access Rd
