Itinerary:
Don't stop hiking cause the holiday season is here. Keep outdoors and keep in shape!

The Cohuttas are right around the corner from here so lets go get in some quality hiking before all your Saturday night Holiday Parties.

We will start at the Chestnut Lead trail where we will descend moderately to the Conasuagu River. Total descent about 1,000'. Here we will take the Conasauge river trail Northwest crosiing the river 18 times. Yes these are watercrossings. Please be prepared to get your boots wet.

We will stop for lunch sometime along the river to enjoy the peacefulness and scenery of the area. After lunch we will finish hiking this part of the trail until we come to the Tearbritches trail.

This is where we all have fun, the climb is approx. 2,200' to the top of Bald Mtn over apporx 2.5 miles. This is a steep and rugged climb out of the river valley. After reaching the top of Bald Mtn its just a short descent down to the road and our cars, 3/4 mile and 400'

The trip is approx. 8 miles in length. You should be able to hike at a good pace and be able and prepared to cross the river multiple times. Water crossings should be no deeper than shin to knee. A 2000' climb is also required to leave the river valley. This is not an easy climb.

Trekking poles ARE REQUIRED for this trip due to the numerous river crossings.

This hike requires a 1.6 mile car shuttle or an additional hike of 1.6 miles along the forest service road if there are not enough people/cars.
