Itinerary:

NOTE: The details of this event have been changed slightly due to the temporary closure of the Arkaquah Trail because of wildfires. But let's still have some fun on the Wagon Train Trail as we climb Georgia's highest mountain. Along the way, we'll enjoy glorious views and heart-pounding ascents.

The Wagon Train Trail also goes to the top of Brasstown Bald via an alternate route. The Wagon Train Trail is 2 miles longer than Arkaquah with approximately the same elevation gain. We'll head up the Wagon Train Trail to the paved sidewalk to the Brasstown Bald summit to enjoy spectacular views and a tasty lunch, then we'll head back down the trail before concluding our expedition. We'll stop for dinner and toast our success before returning to the Park and Ride.

This is a strenuous hike, covering about 14 miles with nearly 4,000 feet of elevation gain. Only advanced hikers with D5 experience should register.  If you do not have such experience on your AOC resume, we will be contacting you to determine whether this is the right event for you.
