Itinerary:

Sunday after Thanksgiving, is the perfect time to go hiking in the Mountains! With this in mind, our hike adventure on Sunday starts at Mt. Yonah. It has been a while since I hiked Mt. Yonah, but as I recall it is amazing this time of year. The changing leaves, Mountain views, nature and mountain air should be spectacular. As for the trails for hiking, they are beautiful and challenging. Mt. Yonah's peak is approx.  3150 ft in elevation. We will assend around 1300 ft of this elevation in 2.5 miles which makes this trail challenging and fun!  While Yonah's trails are relatively short trails in distance, we will find more trails to loop, visit pink mountain and the ranger training area if necessary to get our anticipated 8 miles or so of hiking in to complete our Sunday adventure.  The drive should take apprx. 1 hr 15 min to get to the trailhead in which we plan to hike apprx. 3 hrs and allow another 1 hr 15 min for the drive home.

For more information on Mt. Yonah you can visit

http://EN/WIKIPEDIA/.ORG/WIKI/YONAH_MOUNTAIN

This is a reasonably streneous hike (1300 elevation gain in 2.5miles as well as some scambling on the boulders), so it is not for beginners. As always, I will be moving at a moderately fast pace with few breaks.

We will have a carpool to the event in which we will meet at Mansell Parkway Park and Ride at 8:15am so that we can depart by 8:30am.
