On Friday evening, we will drive to Alabama. We will stay in a cabin with spectacular views. On Saturday morning we will drive through part of Alabama via a scenic by-way. Along the way many wonderful natural attractions will occupy our time. Our first planned stop is at the 90 foot waterfall cascading into a beautiful ravine at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden. After spending time at the falls, we will drive a short distance to Little River Canyon National Preserve.

The river and canyon systems are spectacular Appalachian Plateau landscapes any season of the year. Forested uplands, waterfalls, canyon rims and bluffs, stream riffles and pools, boulders, and sandstone cliffs offer settings for a variety of recreational activities. We leave for our last stop of the day - DeSoto State Park.

Accented by waterfalls, scenic vistas and sheer rock cliffs, fragrant wildflowers and hiking trails, the pioneer spirit is enhanced with a unique restaurant, resort, camping and cabin rentals. Among the many waterfalls found throughout the park is the DeSoto Falls, a 104-ft drop into the rugged canyon carved by the Little River.

We will return to the cabin Saturday night the 25th . Sunday we will again hike around DeSoto Falls before driving home to Atlanta. Bring lunch with you for during the day. We will go out to dinner as a group on Saturday evening.
