Itinerary:

Hike sections 1 & 2 of the BMT from Springer Mtn off FS42 to Little Skeenah Creek on Hwy 60 for total of 18 miles which includes the AT to Springer. Pace will be fast at 3mph to hopefully finish in 6 hours not including shuttles at Springer Mtn & Hwy 60. Be aware that this is rated a D5 Difficult hike due to winter weather, distance, & pace.
If you don't want to do that many miles, you can skip the loop around Springer and just head North 200 feet on AT to Crosstrails with the BMT and save almost 4 miles, and/or wait at the Toccoa River suspension bridge at FS 816 and wait for shuttle pickup to save over 3 miles. If choose to take both options, your total will be 11 miles instead of the full 18 making it a D4 hike taking approximately 4-5 hours to complete. Three Forks is also a bailout point but only 6 miles into the hike.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
