Itinerary:

Let's take it easy on this one and just enjoy talking with friends, meeting new friends,  and walking at a very moderate pace.  Nothing strenuous!  It is a great hike for beginners who at least have the ability to walk four miles on rolling hills.  The trail is one big loop, so we can't get lost - - At least, not for long!

The Leita Thompson Memorial is a very pretty trail located in Roswell, GA. It's made of soft, small gravel and plenty wide to walk side by side. It's very wooded and clean and has a few nice little hills. I call it the perfect D2. We'll do about 3 to 3.5 miles on the trails including a walk around a small lake and a stop at the dog park to the the pups playing together.

A little more information on the park:

There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park.

We'll being our hike at 10:00 sharp, so please arrive a few minutes early to meet the group and check in.  Because the lot at the pavilion is small, we'll park at the overflow lot about 1/8 mile from the pavilion lot. If you fail to turn in just past the dog park and go to the pavilion lot, just turn right on the gravel road which leads to the overflow lot.

This is a dog-friendly park, with many dogs on the trail.  You are welcome to bring your dog as long as you keep it on leash during the hike and clean up any messes that it makes.  There is a fenced in "off leash" area if you'd like for your dog to be able to run free and play with other dogs after the hike.

Use this address for your GPS setting: 1355 Woodstock Road, Roswell, GA.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1355 Woodstock Rd  - Roswell Art Center West parking lot

Roswell, GA 30075

There are actually three entrances to the park!  We'll be meeting at the middle one. The first puts you at the dog park, at the south end of the park.  The middle driveway puts you into the overflow parking lot near the arts center building. This is the lot we'll park in.  The third entrance is the main one (with the green-roofed pavilion), If you turn in here, you can simply drive down the little road to the overflow parking area - - about 1/8 mile.
