Itinerary:
This hike is basically the one on Saturday that was was rained out...first priority was given to those registered for Saturday...any remanining slots are open for anyone else who would like to join us.

We'll begin by hiking at a moderate pace up the main Mount Yonah trail (approx. 1500 ft elevation gain in around 2 1/4 miles). As we near the top, we will veer off the main trail and hike along the side of the exposed rock face. If it is still too wet up there, there is a regular dirt trail that runs parallel to the edge

We will also check out "the Boulder" and then watch the sunset if the weather finally cooperates. Note that we aren't going to head down the mtn right after sunset...we'll probably hang out at the top for 10-15 afterwards and enjoy the fading light and views. This trail is not too difficult to follow and the trip leader has hiked down it in the evening before (just last week actually). But be sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight for this portion of the hike. We are going to take our time heading down as the trail is rocky in parts and we want to be safe. After the hike, we will stop for pizza...the restaurant has a buffet as well as other items on the menu.

The total distance for this hike should be about 5-6 miles. Total ascent will be around 1500-2000 feet. It does involve some moderately steep sections and rocky terrain. Pace will not be overly fast because we have should have plenty of time. So this will be a light D4 because of the elevation gain.

Here is the elevation profile for the main Mount Yonah trail:
