Itinerary:

The snow and ice forced a cancellation of this event on the 7th, so here's a replacement for the folks who missed out.  Everyone is welcome, whether you've already hiked the boardwalk or not.

The official opening ceremony for the boardwalk took place on December 16, 2016, just one day before our first AOC hike there.  The beautiful, new boardwalk extends from the entrance at the Chattahoochee Nature Center on Willeo Rd. to Azalea Park on Azalea Dr. - - a distance of .7 miles.  We'll start the hike at the bathrooms at Roswell Park on Riverside Dr. and hike the 1.5 mile path to the boardwalk.  Then, you're in for a real treat, walking on the newly constructed boardwalk that takes a winding route actoss the wetland, often passing near the Chattahoochee River for some scenic views of the waterway.  This is an out and back hike with an opportunity for a bathroom break at about the halfway point.

Dogs are permitted on this event, but no more than 3 dogs.  If you see that three dogs are already registered, please do not plan to bring yours.  Of course, all dogs must be kept on leash for the entire event.
