Itinerary:

Join me for a fun hike at Leita Thompson Memorial Park. We will do 2 loops around the park for a total of 5-6 miles at a moderate 3.0 pace enjoying all the scenery. Leita Thompson Memorial Park is a dirt roller coaster trail. It will give you a good workout while enjoying your hike through the woods.

Leita Thompson bought the land in 1946 and made it her home until her 1978 death. During her lifetime, Thompson was an early female banking executive who helped other working women with retirement assistance, disability, housing and social and professional recognition. Upon her death, she donated her property to the foundation she created to carry out her work, the Leitalift Foundation. The Leitalift Foundation Inc. has donated more than 100 acres of prime, mostly undeveloped property to the city of Roswell Recreation and Parks Department. The land will remain undeveloped for the near future.

We will meet at the overflow parking lot (see directions below) at 9:20 am for socializing & introductions. Out of respect for the majority of people who arrive on time, we will leave PROMPTLY at 9:30 am.

After entering Leita Thompson Memorial Park take the 1st right to the overflow parking lot where we will meet.

Take a right out of Leita Thompson Memorial Park. Do a Uee back to the 1st stop light. Turn LEFT onto Mountain Park Road. Take the 1st RIGHT into Roswell Corners Shopping Center. Drive straight to the end. Turn RIGHT & go to the end. Panera Bread will be on the right at the end of the shops.
