Itinerary:
This will be something different - a "Social on the Trail" instead of inside at some bar. More of what we love, hiking, and healthier environment, outdoors. Start the year off right by taking a social hike at a leisurely pace to get to know some of your fellow members better and enjoy some time outside. I'm sneaking away while my wife & kids nap so I'm starting after lunch but I figure that would work better for you party-goers anyway. The Pine Log Creek Trail opened in November 2007 on 275 acres of protected Bartow County Greenspace. The trail features a 4.5 mile compacted soil path crossing seven rustic footbridges over Pine Log Creek.

We plan on doing both the East & West Loops plus side trails to total 4.75 miles with an option to do a second lap to total 9.5 miles.

From two overlooks, hikers can view Pine Log Mountain - one of the highest elevations in Bartow County's Appalachian foothills - and the site of the Pine Log Cherokee Indian Village. The trail system includes two loops east and west and is rated moderate to difficult with rugged terrain. The eastern loop takes hikers by an early CCC quarry pond for picturesque views. Pine Log Creek Trail is open daylight to dusk to hikers only.

    How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Exit 293 on I-75 turn right onto US 411 North. After about 7.5 miles turn right onto GA 140 East. Continue approximately 3.2 miles to Pine Log Creek Trail System parking area on left. Look for a tan wooden sign with green writing on your left at the gravel parking area. Those headed North on Hwy 140 from Canton will go straight through the 4way stop in Waleska. Then after several miles to the Bartow County line after a curvy section, watch for the trailhead parking on the right.
