Itinerary:

This is going to be a really, really slow hike at Island Ford on which we stay pretty much along the river (flat) so that there is "no excuse" for not joining us if you have the time.  One of our members (Luz) requested this hike so that she can show off one of our beautiful parks to her visiting sister.  We will NOT work up a sweat,  we will NOT be going up any hills, and we will NOT be going fast.  In fact, you won't even have to carry water, unless you just want to.  We will stop for some views of the river and the caves,  and we'll take lots of pictures!

We'll park at the Visitor Center where folks can use the restroom before we begin.  It's also a place where passes for the park can be purchased.   For those who are new to Island Ford, the Visitor Center is almost a mile from the park entrance . . .  all the way until the road ends!

Be sure to bring $3.00 cash for parking if you don't have an annual pass.

Required Items to Bring:

Restroom facility is available down the road at the Visitor Center.  Allow an extra 15 minutes to use the bathroom so that you can get back to the middle lot in time to meet your fellow hikers before we start.

Don't forget to bring $3 cash for a parking ticket;  change is not available. (AN annual pass can be purchased at the Visitor Center for $35.  If you're over 62, it's $10 for a lifetime pass.)

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:   Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
