Itinerary:
We will be taking a casual hike of Mount Cheaha. This is Alabama's highest peak. It has awesome views. On Saturday we will be hiking "The Chia Lake trail" along with "Rock Garden trail" Total miles 3.6 miles. These trails are rated technical because there is some scrambling up and down bolders. We will be taking a slow pace and maybe splitting into groups so that everyone can go their own pace. There will be no hurry since we have the whole weekend to enjoy the beauty of this area. Rock climbing checkout!---There is some rock climbing areas here as well. I have never done any climbing in this area nor know of anyone who has. Chris and I will be bringing ropes and a crash pad, If anyone has climbing shoes and harness bring them and we can do some checkout routes! Any questions please send me an email. Saturday evening we'll have a big party at the campground. Games (You know I will have Hunker Down! If you don't know what it is, it is the best camp game ever!) and pizza! Stories and Jokes! Campfire with smores! We will be camping in the campgrounds. So this can be considered luxry camping! I will be bringing the Wood fired Pizza oven to cook gourmet pizzas for everyone Saturday night. We will have 4 main types of pizza A)Prosciutta, garlic and cheese. B)grilled portabella with goat cheese C)Smoked salmon, creme fraiche, and dill D)Roma tomato, Basil and cheese. If anyone has any alergies or special food requirements I can make adjustments with advanced notice. We will be grilling out breakfast Sunday morning. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancake, etc. Again I can make adjustments based on special needs or requests. Sunday will be exploration hiking. We will play it by ear and hike whatever we feel is best as a group. The plan will be to hit the road to head back to ATL about 2 ish. We can stop for a late lunch if group wishes.
