We plan to catch the sunrise and the sunset, on the same day, from the top of Stone Mountain. This is part 2 of a 2 part hike. Sunset is expect at 6:19 PM. We will start our hike 5:30. After viewing the sunset from the top of the mountain, we will hike down the mountain. It will be getting dark towards the end of our hike. Remember to bring a headlamp or flashlight. Please make sure you wear appropriate footwear with good traction so that you can tackle the (slick-when-wet) granite.

After the hike, we plan to have dinner at The Village Corner - German Restaurant and Bakery. The dinner is optional.

WHERE: We will by the bathrooms near Confederate Hall at the base of the walk-up trail.

WHEN: The hike will start promptly at 5:30 PM so plan to arrive early.

HOW MUCH: There is no charge for this hike except vehicle parking fees which range from $15 for a one-day pass to $35 for an annual pass. Alternatively, you could park for free in Stone Mountain Village, and walk a short distance to the meetup location just past the park entrance (see directions below).
