Super Sunday Hike

Hey everyone, it is in town and perfect for a Sunday morning hike. So, let us get some miles in at one of my favorite Chattahoochee Parks - “Island Ford”.  While this trail is not a mountain trail, it is close to Atlanta, gives us time to do other stuff today, is an excellent trail with some moderate slopes, rocky terrain, and narrow trails. This will give us just enough perks in the trail to make it fun, challenging and rewarding.  Of course, there are some amazing views of the Chattahoochee (lot os wildlife to see). We will take a couple of quick stops for photos.

For this event, we will cover 7 miles of trail at a fast pace. However, if you are a hiker that would like to advance to the next level or try hiking greater distance at a faster pace please join me. This is an awesome trail and we will loop back to the parking lot a time or two if someone needs to abort.   (To get credit for the D3 hike you must complete the entire 7 miles with us).

With this in mind, our Super Sunday hike start's at the first parking lot on the left,  and we will make our way through all of the trails at a moderate fast pace to complete 7 miles.  We will not be running this trail, but definitely plan to get some exercise.

We are starting at the  first parking lot on the left as you turn in to the park.

I look forward to hiking with you at Super Sunday!
