Itinerary:

Join us for a 9 mile hike with beautiful views of the Chattahoochee River, on some lesser known trails.  The terrain is mostly flat, although some short hills at the beginning and end that everyone can take at their own pace. There is about 600' of total ascent.  Some of the route is off trail, but no real "bushwhacking" and mostly on fisherman trails and such.

This event actually traverses through three different parks.  It begins and ends in Settles Bridge Park, a Gwinnett County Park, but most of the time is spent in the Chattahoochee NRA Settles Bridge and Orrs Ferry units.

There are some nice shoal areas along the river, so we will stop   for some snack breaks and have lunch at Fish Weir Shoals, before turning back south.

Dogs are permitted on this hike, but remember that in accordance with park rules, they MUST be kept on leash the entire time.  And if you like, feel free to arrive early (or stay late) and you can visit the large dog park area where they can play and roam free.
