Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Vogel State Park - I have never hiked the trails there but I am told that it is a beautiful park and one to add to my "must hike" list.

We will hike a few different trails - Bear Hair Gap Trail, Trahlyta Lake Trail and a small portion of the Coosa Trail.

See car pool information below.

If meeting at carpool we leave Mansell park and ride promptly at 8:00 a.m.

If meeting at Vogel State Park (visitor's center) please arrive by 9:45 - hike will begin promptly at 10:00 - hike time expected to be 3 hours and approximately 8 miles but since exploratory may be over/under on mileage and/or time.

Restrooms are available at visitor's center. Please arrive early in order to purchase parking pass and use facilities.

GA-400 North approx 53 miles to US-19. Turn left towards Dahlonega. Follow US-19 signs through Dahlonega to Turners Corner. Turn left and continue to follow US-19 signs through Neels Gap. Vogel State Park is approx 15 miles on left off US-19 (11 miles south of Blairsville).

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $56.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
