Itinerary:

**What better time than April Fools to do something different. We will be crossing all the way across the Chattahoochee and back through the river. The water is generally thigh to waist deep at the deepest parts with a gentle current.  If you are very tall or short your experience may vary.  Additionally if the water is unusually high we will need to cancel the event.**

We will cover between 2 and 3.5 miles with almost no elevation gain depending on where we choose to cross. My perferred crossing is at the very far end and would have us go up and down both of the major islands for around 3.5 miles. However if the group prefers we can shorten things with a harder but still doable crossing at the near end to avoid backtracking. This shorter version is about 2 miles. This hike probably isn't best for a beginner hiker or someone unsteady on their feet due to the two river fords of the Chattahoochee having slick rocks and unstable footing in places.

We'll start at the MIDDLE parking lot. This lot is not the first lot on the left as you enter the park, nor is it the Visitor Center lot at the end of the road. It's the lot just before you come to the pond, on the left side of the road, about .6 miles from the entrance.

Please arrive a couple of minutes early in case you need to purchase a $3 daily parking pass (if you don't own an annual pass).
