After setting up shuttle we will start our hike at W elevation Winding Stairs elevation 1958'we will have to ford several creeks up to the AT turn right to Cheoah Bald elevation 5062' and then down to Sassafras Shelter where we will camp for the night. Sunday we will hike again down hill to the NOC and lunch after a well deserved meal (hot) we will shuttle back to our car and drive back to Atlanta. This is a very demanding hike if the water is up it will be more demanding big elevation gain in about 5 miles. Total distance about 11 miles most of this will be done on Saturday. leader and co leader will have water filters and stoves. Let leader know before hie date if you need to use.

Required Items to Bring:
tent, sleeping bag (15 degree or better) pad, dinner and 2 lunches, water to start hike, water filter and stove.

From I-575 to Hwy 60 turn left go to Alt. 60 take right this will run into Hwy 129 stay on 129 to Nanathala River and trail head.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $92.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
