Itinerary:

On June 6, 2009, the American Hiking Society will celebrate the its 17th Annual National Trails Day®.

You are invited to celebrate National Trails Day in North Georgia by joining a U.S.Forest Service sponsored event on the Emery Creek Trail in the Chattahoochee National Forest.  Forest Rangers and trail volunteers (that's partially us AOC'ers) will be joining forces to provide some much needed TLC (trail loving care) to this beautiful hiking trail.

This celebrated day is an open invitation to all Americans to get outside and experience everything the great outdoors has to offer.  National Trails Day, the only nationwide celebration of trails, brings awareness to trails and thanks many volunteers and partners for their support and hard work.  It is also a day to give people an opportunity to give something back for the many joys and benefits trails offer.

We will be working on some much needed maintenance on the upper Emery Creek Trail...trimming/slingblading, tread repair, and waterbar repair.

No experience is needed, but please see the list of required items to bring and the list of recommended items listed below.
